The Kid From Brooklyn
A lame Danny Kaye remake of Harold Lloyd's The Milky Way, about a fainthearted milkman who accidentally KO's the heavyweight champ and quickly finds himself being promoted as a contender. Director Norman Z. McLeod plods through the doughy, obvious material; the few interspersed musical numbers are blandly overdone in the unmistakable manner of producer Samuel Goldwyn. With Virginia Mayo, Vera-Ellen, Steve Cochran, Eve Arden, and Lionel Stander; the Technicolor photography is the work of Gregg Toland. |
